We are seeking a Homebuyer Assistance Specialist to support housing recovery and affordability programs by tracking applications, completing quality reviews, preparing reports, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners. This role supports participants from application intake through closeout and represents program operations in meetings, trainings, and community engagement. The position is primarily onsite, with occasional local travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage participant applications from intake through closeout.
- Track application progress and follow up to ensure files are complete and accurate.
- Review case files for quality, consistency, and compliance with program requirements.
- Monitor program activity and identify issues that may delay processing or closeout.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc reports for leadership and program partners.
- Analyze program data to identify trends and support process improvements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve application issues.
- Serve as a point of contact for lenders, housing counselors, real estate professionals, and title companies.
- Support outreach efforts and maintain relationships with nonprofit and community partners.
- Participate in community meetings, events, and program trainings as needed.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, urban planning, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, loan processing, housing programs, or a related role.
- Experience supporting affordable housing, housing recovery, or public assistance programs preferred.
- Working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation, underwriting concepts, and lending terminology.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate, well-documented files.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel locally as needed.
Compensation
- $30–35 per hour, based on experience.
