We are seeking a Senior Associate to join a well-respected specialty litigation firm in the Southeast. The firm represents clients across litigation, subrogation, and government matters, with a team of 12 attorneys focused on complex disputes and a reputation built on consistent courtroom performance. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of substantive government-related litigation work while contributing to a collaborative and disciplined legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle litigation matters involving government entities from initial case assessment through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with a high level of precision.
- Manage discovery processes, including depositions, document review, and production.
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Collaborate with partners and internal teams on case strategy and execution.
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to government litigation and regulatory matters.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all deadlines and court requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 5–8 years of litigation experience, with a focus on government-related matters.
- Active bar license in Mississippi or ability to obtain promptly.
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated courtroom experience and comfort handling hearings and proceedings.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a structured environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional communication skills and sound judgment.
Compensation
- $120,000–$180,000, depending on experience.
