Controller - Family Office

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller – Family Office for a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting and tax functions, including financial statement preparation, aggregation, compilation, and review from various investments. You will work closely with the CFO/COO to ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation and input of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and revenue summaries.
  • Compile and distribute monthly financial statements.
  • Research and resolve balance sheet and income statement discrepancies and respond to ad hoc requests.
  • Coordinate reporting to outside tax professionals and monitor K1s and periodic tax information. Develop, implement, and monitor internal accounting systems and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare financial statements and schedules for auditors and various management reports.
  • Aggregate financial information for month-end balance sheets and income statements.
  • Review, monitor, and manage multiple bank accounts, including funding and transfers.
  • Serve as the initial contact for account reconciliation and financial reporting inquiries.
  • Assist in the financial review of prospective investment opportunities as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to fund, investment, and private equity.
  • Experience in both public and private accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word and accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Genesis, etc.).
  • High discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and quick comprehension.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Compensation:

  • $150,000 to $200,000, based on experience
