We are seeking HR Assistant candidates for a professional services firm headquartered in the metro-Jackson area. The position provides administrative and operational support within the Human Resources department. This role is integral to maintaining organizational efficiency and supporting the firm’s strategic HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will manage various HR functions, including employee onboarding, record management, benefits administration, and policy compliance, to ensure a collaborative and efficient workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate new hire processes, including preparing paperwork and conducting orientations.
  • Manage and update employee records in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain and organize critical employment documents to ensure data integrity.
  • Support benefits enrollment and address employee inquiries regarding benefits.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers to resolve issues and maintain benefits records.
  • Assist in developing and communicating HR policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
  • Address employee inquiries and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Promote a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Participate in HR projects aimed at process improvement and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of HR-related experience.
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a relevant field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficient communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Fundamental understanding of employment laws and practices. 
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive mindset.
