Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team and contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial leader with a strong background in the professional services sector, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within law, accounting, engineering, or similar professional service firms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary financial leadership, working collaboratively with the executive team to develop and implement strategic financial plans that align with the firm’s goals and objectives.
• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure sound fiscal decision-making and resource allocation.
• Manage financial operations, including accounting, tax, treasury, and risk management, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Lead and mentor a skilled finance team, fostering professional growth and maintaining a high-performance culture within the department.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, regulatory bodies, and clients, to strengthen the firm’s financial reputation and credibility.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is mandatory.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a professional service firm environment such as a law firm, accounting firm, engineering firm, or related industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex financial operations, driving strategic initiatives, and contributing to business growth.
• Strong understanding of professional service industry dynamics, including billing practices, client engagements, and partnership structures.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• This position is preferably located in our central Mississippi headquarters, but can be based in one of several southeastern regional offices, with occasional travel to other regional offices as needed.
