We are seeking Assistant Controller candidates for a leading building services organization. The position collaborates with the CFO and General Manager to plan and maintain financial statements and budgets. The ideal candidate is professional and capable of working independently with the ability to manage diverse teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CFO to ensure the timely preparation of accurate monthly financials, including detailed journal entries and thorough balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Payroll teams, directly supervising the Payroll Manager and Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure work accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to monthly financial reporting, maintain well-organized support files, and liaise with department managers to meet financial obligations and adhere to guidelines.
  • Aid in budgeting processes by managing the collection, analysis, and consolidation of financial data, and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Uphold the confidentiality and integrity of financial information and operational processes.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize accounting procedures, implement best practices, and support both internal and external audit processes, ensuring full compliance.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed, representative of the role’s scope.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5+ years of financial accounting experience, with at least two years managing Accounting and/or Payroll staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage expectations, and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail and the capacity to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills for clear and articulate interactions within the company.
  • Highly proficient in QuickBooks.
  • Adept in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of Service Titan is a plus.
  • Commitment to professional growth, maintaining current knowledge, and adhering to security and confidentiality protocols.

Compensation:
