Migrant Caseworker - Multilingual

Our client, a mission-based organization with an immediate need, is seeking compassionate and dedicated Caseworkers. These roles involve providing support services to displaced migrants temporarily housed in hotels in the New York City area, near JFK Airport in Jamaica. As a Caseworker, you will be the main point of contact for assessing needs, coordinating care, and connecting clients to critical services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet 1:1 with displaced migrant clients staying in designated hotels.
  • Conduct needs assessments and determine eligibility for available assistance programs.
  • Enter and track data through a customer-provided case management system.
  • Help maintain compliance with underlying grant programs.
  • Manage crisis interventions and provide information and referrals to address urgent needs.
  • Teach basic life skills and coach clients in building self-sufficiency.
  • Develop reports using software on migrant client interactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of direct case management experience.
  • Strong communication, cultural competency, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and experience with MS Office applications.
  • Comfortable learning and utilizing iPad/tablet and various software programs, including Google Translate.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, French, Arabic and Wolof is highly preferred; multilingual skills are welcome.

Compensation:

$28/hr
