We are seeking Commercial Building Engineer candidates for a commercial real estate and development firm. This role focuses on maintaining and caring for a wide range of commercial properties including upscale retail spaces and Class A offices.
This hands-on position requires strong communication skills and a professional appearance to interface with high-end commercial tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
- Oversee and execute comprehensive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
- Maintain the professional appearance of all properties, equipment, engineering spaces, and communal areas.
- Perform and oversee maintenance of the building lighting system, including repairs and replacements.
- Prepare estimates for tasks, detailing required time and materials.
- Order and maintain adequate supplies and tools for task completion.
- Implement and maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Inspect work performed by outside contractors, ensuring it meets high standards.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures for all maintenance tasks, utilizing technology effectively for management and communication.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and tenant concerns.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in building engineering or facilities management, particularly in HVAC Certification is a plus
- Class A office environments
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building management systems
- Physically capable of performing tasks that involve stooping, standing, walking, climbing, and lifting heavy loads (50 lbs. or more)
- Technical ability to complete reports

Compensation:
- $55,000 to $58,000, based on experience
