We are seeking a Benefits Clerk for a Professional Employer Organization (PEO). This key role aids in the administration of employee benefit programs for client companies. This role requires mindfulness, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage various administrative tasks related to employee benefits. Position is on on-site.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in administering employee benefit enrollment and termination, ensuring timely and accurate paperwork for new hires, terminations, and status changes.
  • Support employee benefit communications, preparing materials for open enrollment and distributing information.
  • Organize employee meetings or seminars to explain benefit programs and address inquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee benefit records in HRIS and assist with related reports and analytics.
  • Serve as the first contact for basic benefits inquiries and direct complex questions to the appropriate parties.
  • Assist in ensuring benefit programs comply with laws like ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and support report preparation.
  • Collaborate with vendors to gather information, resolve issues, and coordinate with external partners.
  • Investigate and resolve minor benefit discrepancies or issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Organize and maintain confidential, compliant benefit-related documents.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment and maintain client retention through excellent customer service.
  • Participate in special projects and stay informed on compliance matters.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of benefits administration experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word, plus ability to learn latest programs
  • Organized, meticulous, and analytical
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Superior customer service and people skills
  • Stable work history and ability to pass a background check

Compensation:

  • $20-22/hour DOE
